Sounds like you're having a great time with your neighbours. You have my sympathy Wilmslow.
It's times like this that make you want to live in the middle of a field. Somebody has already mentioned a caravan haven't they?
I saw that episode of top gear too. It was a mainstream dealer from what I can remember. You could try phoning round a few of the larger ones, or even those car supermarkets to see if they have any cars for disposal. Tell them you're working on a project or something and leave your number with them.
The local paper here in Leicester has something called "jalopy corner". You'll usually find cars in there for sub £100.
This made me smile... the perfect vehicle perhaps...? linky
That would have been an easy fix and would have been right at home outside your house. Just call the RAC/AA when you get there and get them to sort it if you're really lazy.
Just imagine the fun you could have with it, accidentally backing it into their cars/vans whilst you move it 6 feet every night.
You could setup an eBay email alert when more sub £100 cars are on in the meantime.Eat Right, Exercise, Die Anyway.Comment

Well, found the ideal car - a 1992 Polo in good looking rust free nick for £250. 1.3 CL. Groovy..... May also be an ideal banger to have when I have to gig away, take the train or and park in a dodgy side street routine as I did in the past with my 1992 Mazda Eunos!
Just hope it has power steering, and will pass the MOT when I present her for it if I do choose to actually drive the thing.
Wish me luck - viewing it tomorrow.
Now, just need to get that MOT agricultural exception for the goat that has been got.....
Ah, the things we do in life!

It's probably a good idea not to annoy your mafia neighbours unduley anyway, as they (or even regular people) might have been if you were simply using an unused car to prevent them from parking. It might well have escalated things, which may or may not have been what you had in mind.Originally posted by Wilmslow View PostWell, found the ideal car - a 1992 Polo in good looking rust free nick for £250. 1.3 CL. 1) go to Stoodley auctions or Bellevue auctions in Manchester (just up the A34 in fact) - the last car usually goes for joke money (under 50 quid) and after Christmas it can be very quiet.
2) move to Prestbury or Alderley Edge - it's much nicer out here.Comment

The house I just bought has private parking to the kerb, no pavement.
Last week I had the 4x4, the truck and my brothers van parked out front.
a woman came hammering on the door and complained that I was blocking the footpath and she would report me to the police and council.
I pointed out that the footpath was across the road and that the frontage on this side belonged to me.
She spat at me and tried to rip the mirror off the truck as she squeezed past
Trouble is, I have now found out that there is a right of way across the frontage at the kerb and I have to leave a navigable gap between vehicles and kerb.
Can I make the council pay for re-tarmacking the front to make safe footing for pedestrians (and better parking for me)

How many properties do you own? Can you offer any property development tips? For example where you find these cheap houses that need doing up?Comment

Obituaries, elderly people that pass away and leave property in need of repair or modernization to relatives that want a quick sale.
