We only used metric units on my diving course, AFAIR. 1 bar per 10 metres, 1 cubic metre water = 1 metric tonne = 1000 kg, etc. You don't need a slide rule underwater in metric.

I watch all the Yank house renovation, building and Carpentry programs, they all use imperial, even though the materials they use all come in metric measurements.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostThe yanks call them "English units", the cheeky beggers.

Yeah, I've seen a few of those. What's the one with some guy with a house full of outrageous carpentry equipment? It's fascinating watching, though out of touch with the kind of equipment I own.Comment

Ah, I think it was the Yankee workshop. It's been years since I've seen it though, perhaps because I don't have Sky anymore.

This might seem a stupid question, but if the whole purpose of buying the car is to make sure you can get access to your driveway, why not just park on the side of the road yourself?
Alternatively, you could park your £200 car in the driveway and when it gets blocked in, just ram the offending vehicles in an attempt to get out.
In all seriousness though, a feud is not what you want, unless you're happy to start trading blows and bricks through windows. You should be able to ask your local police for advice... they might well have nothing to say but on the other hand you can't lose anything from trying.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
