whilst I will accept the legitimacy of collins, rokokoko et al who were new Zealanders Before they became identified as very good rugby players, the likes of Sivivatu were clearly coerced at an age when they would have been recognised as stars of the future. It may indeed be that by and large the All Blacks are made up of bona fide new Zealanders whether they be born in NZ, samoa, Timbuktu or manchester, but the point being made is do NZ poach players at a young age and coerce them into becoming all blacks?
If Sivivatu is the only one then you are right about Stephen Jones. If it is endemic within the All Blacks then he has a point.
We are all mostly immigrants at some stage, and the likes of Pietersen, Stephens may not have the Nationalist legitimacy of say Will greenwood, but the line needs to be drawn somewhere. If players are voluntarily or by birth qualifying for a particular country (as do Riki Flutey and Glen jackson- both of who are potential NZ England players) then fine. But coercing and poaching young players from other countries (and Sivivatu is a prime example) who have great potential, particularly if they are from poor countries then that is a step too far. After all the loss of Brendan Lainey was not exactly going to send NZ rugby into turmoil was it? whereas the loss of Sivivatu was a major blow to Fijian rugby.
the problem you kiwis have Tay is that you will not accept any criticism of your precious rugby team from anyone outside NZ. You kiwis need to take a leaf out of the aussie book and show a little self effacement.. pommie or aussie style!
