Re the thread format, when I started replying the format wasn’t formed yet, only it took me soooo long to write down my reply, by which time the format was formed and it was too late…

If anybody asked me what strategy ClientCorp Inc should adopt, I'd tell them it should simply be to replace the Accounts Payable department with people who actually know how to pay accounts on the due date

Nah. You lot are amateurs. That's why you're destined to work for a relative pittance as contractors, while being subject to the whims and vagaries of the market.
              To be a proper permie:

              1. Hire very smart people to work for you.
              2. "Manage" them so you get all the credit.
              3. Sit back and post on CUK.
              Hard Brexit now!

Completely fail to understand that you are a tool to make other people money.

Completely fail to understand that you do not own the company. The amount of times I've heard permies talk about how this or that will make 'us' more money is staggering. Another good one is how 'we' are wasting money on this or that, as if their salaries would increase were it not for this 'waste'. NO! YOU will not get any more money!

Completely fail to understand that you will only ever get paid the smallest amount your employer thinks they can get away with.

Completely fail to understand that being more qualified does not mean you 'deserve' more money.

Completely fail to understand that you are just an overhead like heating or lighting.

Completely fail to understand that if you do leave, the company will survive just fine without you.

Fail to understand the phrase "permanent employment".

                    Clue:- permanent it ain't.

Completely fail to understand that completely failing to understand these things is the reason you'll have a heart attack at 40. And the company will still survive just fine without you...
