Norway might have a low immigration but their wealth is due to natural resources not human capital. Same for Switzerland where now it seems like immigrants are the black sheep of society. Are we forgetting that it's them who built most of the country? Would DimPrawn and Troll send their children to work at Benji for 4 quid an hour? Having said that doesn't make me a left pinko communist who believes in wild immigration and that there should be some regulation and that in case it poses a threat to national security it should be limited. However it seems that if you are not a xenophobic, history and economics unsavant, then you are with the evil.
Yes I agree, it's uneducated idiots like these who polarise the debate. On the other hand we have the cretinous lefties who believe that everything should be completely open
      Hard Brexit now!

For EU there is a bilateral agreement so you cannot do what you want. There are checks in all countries and if you are deemed to be dangerous they have the right to expel you. Apart from that you cannot discriminate between someone who has a PhD or a dish washer if from EU. I don't see how the legislation could be changed neither what you are proposing. You cannot decide that in UK you have only french people with the PhD while others EU countries have to take the less qualified ones. You might do that with the countries where there is no bilateral agreement so it's only your business.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

          EU countries are discriminating, legally:
Romanians are restricted to self employed and work permit applicants. The French only allow Western EU workers (they havnt got any jobs anyway) etc etc.

            Who cares?

We can't change it. I have an opinion and so do you.

Maybe you are right. It's doesn't need fixing, it ain't broke.

More immigrants and higher population density is the way foreward. Can we fit the whole world into London? Don't know, lets give it a go and see the economic and social benefits!

Can't be bothered now. Even work is starting to look interesting again...

Yes. Complex issues are exhausting and not for the lightweight. Now back to your semi-skilled, soon-to-be-outsourced job.

Think about the benefits. Milan could have been your neighbour or your colleague if there was no "free" movement in EU.

So Francko do you think that there should be complete uncontrolled immigration into all EU countries? I think DP was saying that immigration is fine as long as it is controlled, yet you seem to disagree with him.

I said that it should be controlled in terms of potential danger to the population, agreed. But it should not discriminate on the quality of the workforce. A tape changer like Milan is just as good as a brilliant educated professional like me for all it cares and the rights it gives.
