Beaker, why does the moon not revolve in relation to the earth, whereas the earth revolves in relation to the sun?

The moon does rotate in relation to the earth. It rotates at the correct rate to expose the same face to the earth!

Isn't that rotation in relation to the sun? to the earth, it only sees the same face, therefore it isn't rotating in relation to it.
