true sas but can israel still get through if they beat russia and other results go their way? if there is a mathematical chance then they might play with more determination to win which will then increase englands chances.

Cos the manager is supposed to motivate the players, that his job (one of them).

The problem is that none of the prima donnas that earn 5 million quid a year for playing in the league, care a toss about how well they do when they play for England. Qualification for the Euro/World cup finals affects their income by the square root of **** all.

The group was tricky rather than taxing. We should have got through for sure on our own, rather than relying on Macedonia, Israel and Andorra to do us a favour.

The best Israel could get to would be 23 points if they win their two remaining matches. That puts them level with England (if we lose to Croatia) or behind, so no - Israel cannot qualify.

The only teams that can qualify are Croatia (who need a point from two games), Russia (who need to win two games) and England (who need to win and for others to lose).

Even if Russia lose to Israel, we'd still need at least a point against Croatia (depending on what they do against Macedonia).

A little of both - the manager needs to pick the team and come up with some degree of tactics. Against Croatia, it was blatantly obvious that he had no idea about tactics.

No Israel are definitely out. We need to bung them a "sweetener".

Should have put BAE executives in charge - they would make a few "commission" payments to numbered Swiss accounts and win all the way.

I think Gordo has to tell the Israelis that all arms shipments to Israel will cease unless Israel win. The Israelis seem to produce miracles when their national security is threatened.

true, but my point is, if the players dont want to make it happen, it wont. I think the FA should punish poor performances on the national side in way of monetary penalties, but for god sakes dont pay them anymore to do a cr*p job.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”
