No.. it was actually a serious question...my kids uses the term "he bats for the other side", is that acceptable? - or should I admonish them?
It sounds harmless enough to me but I've really no idea what is acceptable these days...

Fair enough - I dunno, but the offensive ones are fairly obvious I think. What your kids say doesn't really bother me, and in RL I personally couldn't give a toss - but my point was that maybe on this board we can exercise some self-restraint when it comes to derogatory language. Been more than enough of it posted, and sometimes I think this board resemble as bigots UK board more than a contractor uk board.

I wonder how many contractors have visited, who don't lie within the 'accepted' profile of a board member here and leave in disgust. I don't really see why it's necessary or that we need to be revisiting this conversation on a monthly basis.

Why take the piss out of someones sexual preference?

          Rather immature, don't you think?

Or are you lot just glad that you're not the one being bullied. This time...

Why take the piss out of anyone full stop... do you think it's possible to even have comedy without someone, somewhere being upset by it?

I have raised this point before but the vast majority on here said I was being paranoid and continued to call me gingerbollox, duracell… etc etc.

                So in that same spirit....

I believe Brian should be referred to as a 'Rump Jockey'.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

                  Why?

Is that because you can't spell "Gay"?

why label anyone is my instant reaction?

but if you must, then surely simply stating that a person is either straight, gay or bi-sexual in the same way we (or rather i hope we) refer to a person simply as black, white etc.

                    no need for any slurs..

that's my own personal view, im sure it doesnt fit with everyone else's

I generally prefer the epithet pillow-biter (carpet-muncher for the fairer sex).

                      Much more to the point.

                      Shirtlifter is a bit last-century I find.
