How do you find your training ? Last minute training offers ??

I know a guy who got M$ certification this year in India. And he's a yank. There were of Her Majesty's subjects on the course as well.

Not any more, only Indian citizens can take M$ exams there now. Same goes for China, I wonder why?

When did they bring that in?

I was in Goa in April, and there were Brits there and a guy from Belgium all doing MC... exams. They also do Cisco, Java, Oracle, Novell, plus plenty of others. I paid extra for the 5* hotel, which was well worth it.

I looked at these guys before, but.... having had to deal with an Indian dev. centre whilst working at a previous big company - did you find it easy to understand them and be understood.

I'm not against learning in India per se, but if they have thick accents, it might be worth me sticking to the UK....

The trainers are good - there were a couple of things that were a bit tricky to understand, but they were fine about being corrected, since they want to learn as well. The guys that bring the tea and water round don't speak a word of English, but that didn't matter to me (for some reason the Belgian guy was really p*ssed about it, as they couldn't communicate well ).

It's no picnic by any means - they work six or seven days a week. Some guys that were there when I was were there for a bit of a doss and then wondered why they failed the exams. Add a couple of days for recovery / travelling and get your company to pay for a holiday for you!

They provide transport to and from the hotel - and negotiate with the drivers to get a better rate than the company can arrange. We went out for the night, having agreed to pay the guy 700 rupees to stay and wait for four hours for us. I asked at the hotel (out of interest) and their rate was 1800 rupees for the same time. In Goa, you don't really need a taxi, since you take your life in your hands every time you get on the roads!

Surely that will only apply to people taking their MS exams with prometric?
