I remember once seeing a list of classic newsgroup posts, including pre-web stuff, which had all sorts of first-ever mentions of things like Star Wars and CDs and loads of other things. Think it was on the Google website itself, but can't remember now.

ETA: There's a few famous old ones listed here, including a link to boo.com via archive.org. Might have to check that out from home.

It's a good 'un, you can type in any major domain, and chances are it'll be able to show you how the homepage looked at several points in the past.

I bet there's some stuff in there that the corporate giants would rather forget. I remember Vodafone's website circa 1997 (sadly not in there) was particularly shocking - the Voda logo followed by a load of clip art icons on a turquoise background. Yum.

I was the fat kid eating my lunch on the corkscrew during the opening sequence of Jim'll fix it.

Edit: Oh, sorry that was someone else, my mistake!

Here's the historical usenet posts page on Google. Some interesting stuff there. If you like that sort of thing.

A friend of mine at school played "an amorous boy" in A Company Of Wolves.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

I tried that once, and I didn't like it much.

Surely anything prior to V5 2Advanced developed by Eric Jordan fit this category..

Can I claim that on expenses?

Well, by marriage I am related to Price William on my fathers side and to the late President John F. Kennedy on my mothers side. When they were married my parents had JFK's cousins as Bridesmaids, however they were unable to attend the wedding, on the morning they were waiting to be taken to the US for Kennedy's funeral; he had been shot the day before in Dallas.
