I do find it weird that the suspect recently lost access to his kid that looked amazingly like maddie. He then was found to have kid porn on his PC. His relatives are sticking up for him. He looks guilty as hell.

1. Parents made a big mistake leaving the kids – but perhaps this was their only adult meal for years
2. Parents are beside themselves with worry, sorrow and self blame, probably can’t eat can’t sleep, need to be with the police most days – not a good place for the other two kids to be around, they are safer and happier in child care facility.
3. Parents are living their worst nightmare – when husband/wife leave the toilet seat up/down, leave mud marks all over the floor, spend too much on a useless item, they quarrel, but when a tragedy like this strike, they both live in dark dark place and the only person who knows what they are going through is their partner- I am not surprise they are holding hands and supporting each other, who else can you go to with this tragedy.
4. As someone else said, their intention from the beginning was to keep Madeleine’s kidnap alive and everyone around the world aware that she was kidnapped and perhaps report any sighting, they have faced a lot of criticism, and they don’t care as long as they have their little girl back. As for everything they weighed the risks of exposing themselves and their errors against keeping the story alive and keeping Madeleine’s image in people’s minds
5. They are both not working now, they have had huge expenses living away, if a newspaper / magazine offered to pay for their expenses as well as further broadcast Madeline’s photos to a bigger audience then so be it
6. Now what would you have done if you were in the same situation, you made a mistake and your child was snatched, even if you didn’t make a mistake, suppose you were holding your kids so tight to your chest, and someone came with a gun and snatched your kids – what would you do? Keep it a secret or expose the story all over the world so that your child can be identified and returned, would you go around fighting your partner or uniting in a mission to find your kids ?

Mrs Lucifer's dad is Portuguese and was in Portugal at the time this happened. He says the Portuguese news portrayed a somewhat different image of aloof and snooty parents. He also said that on the telly news they interviewed the waiters at the restaurant and they said that the parents didn't leave the restaurant all that (or any other) evening other than to go back to their apartment at the end of the meal. All this talk of checking on them regularly in person was bollox, they alleged.

Although who knows whether that is more or less true than anything else one reads or hears in the news.

But I have kids and I don't take my eye of them for a second when we are out and certainly would not leave them like they did.....

It's funny that no matter what somebody is accused of nowdays they always seem to find kiddie porn on a hardrive taken from the suspects computer...

Call me cynical perhaps, but if they can't get anything else there is always the kiddie porn...

I've got a niece who looks the double of her. My best mate has a daughter who looks the double of her - lets face it, any 4 year old, fair haired lass will look like her!!

I dont find that suspiscious at all. And they wheel out that "child porn on pc" thing way too much for it to always be real in my opinion. I'd want to know exactly what we're talking about here before I made judgements over him - are we talking downloaded photos? Peados.com saved on his favourites list? or "barely legal" website cookies (which my lad for one thing, and probably most of you lot) would have been guilty of lookign at inthe past.

There's a massive difference between all of this.

...too young to go to Italy, but not too young to go to Portugal and leave in the apartment all night?
Teh church are saying bring the kids!!!! And they say no?!!

They're also preparing trips to loads of other European countries in the next few weeks. I understand why, but I dont understand why they both have to go, or why they would choose to leave their twins.

I am sure I read that he did not actually have any "kiddie porn" on his PC, just that he had accessed a site containing it. So that could have just been from a pop up from being on a porn site. I am sure that anyone that has accessed porn on there PC/Laptop, and it was taken away for analysis by computer forensics, that it would come back with things you did not even know you had accessed.
