It is spurious because if the parent has leave to remain, residency or citizenship the kids will be British citizens automatically. Not speaking english, supporting dodgy orgs, carrying out arranged marriages may be unpalatable or unwelcome but that doesn't obviate the fact that these people are our fellow citizens. Unless of course you want to strip people of their citizenship but no-one could possibly be dumb enough to see the dangers in setting that precedent - could they?

Going back to SASguru's comments about Cruddas, I'm sorry I just don't believe Jon Cruddas's statements about Dagenham. At best it is misguided disinformation.

What does he mean by "unregulated"? So there are immigrants being given housing but as they are "regulated" they don't count?
Not "permanently" could just mean some houses are in dedicated use as temporary (for each family that is) holding accomodation.
That still means the house is being used 100% of the time for immigrant families.

The few social and council homes that do become available are allocated according to need, and the criteria favour people or families that are unintentionally homeless, those suffering statutory overcrowding, and those with medical problems or disabilities. Race or nationality are not a consideration.

This is not an unconditional statement, careful wording means its effectively bulltulip, smoke and mirrors, the area has had the biggest change in racial demographics of anywhere in Britain since 2001, I suppose he puts it down to natural population growth? In that case the African ethnic population (and I mean African, they are not British 2nd or 3rd generation West Indians) must have exploded to these levels in less than one generation. They must be having 10 kids per family.
In which case even Causus Delis predictions look like being massive underestimates.
Schools that were 95% white just a few years ago now have English as a second language? If these were black Britons why would they be speaking another language?

What may have affected the perception of people in the area is the number of privately owned ex-council houses rented out to immigrants, but although privately owned THE OCCUPANTS GET HOUSING BENEFIT. Since the demise of council house building, this is what much of our social housing policy is based on. To deny immigrants get social housing is being highly economical with the truth, the state is still funding their accomodation even if it is owned by a private landlord.
This means less affordable housing available to buy as the ex-council houses are owned by BTL landlords acting as social housing by proxy.

And as for actual state owned housing it may indeed be allocated according to "need" (not race), but immigrant families have more children so that is why they are percieved by the indigenous population to get priority.


I'm with Melanie Phillips (author of Londonistan), the logical step after stopping any further immigration is to stop marriages to foreign nationals from the African and Indian subcontinents.
This is of course impossible so achieve directly so to achieve practically the partner must be eligible in their own right. i.e. under the points scoring system being adopted by the Home Office they have the skills and attributes required.
They will not be eligible for state welfare for 5 or 10 years after arriving on these shores.

And councils should stop printing benefits leaflets in any language other than English. After all, if Jon Cruddas is telling the real truth then why would they need to?
Remember, its not just the BNP manipulating statistics.

Slightly off topic, but Melanie Phillips is a prize mentalist and one of those columnists I love reading for the indignation value (also Heffer, Toynbee and sometimes Hitchens.) Have you read that book? I was going to but I wasn't sure if she could keep up the gag quotient for a whole book.

Not up to standard! Ha ha ha. Whoever told you that crap was having a right old laugh. It is to a seriously high standard. And you get paid to do up a house if it is substandard stuff! And if they wreck it, or it gets wrecked, you get paid to do it all over again!

You need to be able to get 3 quotes for the work. Many have '3' building companies...
