a. I have 2 children and the GF has two children, and we need some luggage space.
b. I go shooting at the weekends and often this is off road, and requires a 4x4.
c. I need a something that gives me good visibility, and will allow me to get out of a tight spot when emptying the shops. (read carries a large bag of cash)
so please, do recommend an alternative, so far I've not found one.
At least gooner gave valid reasons for needing a 4x4, most people buy one because they are selfish w*****s who couldn't give a flying feck if they run over your children or pulverise your focus because they cant break fast enough.
There was a program on the other night when they put a range rover driver in a mini, he drove around like lord of the manor in the RR clipping curbs and forcing his way in at junctions, in the mini he looked liked a scared little lamb with both hands gripping the wheel for dear life when big 4x4's came near him.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
I have 2 Shoguns both from new, the first is 10 years old and has done 160k miles - but cracked its head last year (which I replaced) this prompted me into buying a new shape Shogun last year intending to replace the earlier model, but having fixed it I intend to keep it going until it dies and/or destroys the planet.
Both are Diesel Autos ( which I recommend) and of the two I actually prefer to drive the older model - but this could just be because I don't care so much if it gets dented or scratched in the supermaket car park.
I have driven the Disco and was very impressed with the ride - superior to the Shogun IMHO but as always it's the reliability of the Landie products that prevented a purchase
