as has been mentioned before it's the majority of saloon cars that should be made greener, not simply the easy way out picking on the small percentage of 4x4's
      Another anti 4x4 point:
Chance of a pedestrian surviving an impact with a 4x4 compared to a saloon car is significantly lower.

So, if you must buy one, don't drive like a c&nt.

          Thought about a landcruiser ??

I've had a 98 td for the last 6 years. Gets a hard life, tows a lot, across my fields etc. No real bothers - did have a clutch at 140k though.

Reasonably civilised on the road too. Personally I found it loads better than a shogun which I just didn't like.

well you know, with the Discos rear seats folder up and the middle ones folded fowards, there is a lot of rolling space....

Why is that a problem? the finish will be as good as anything german but with better reliabilty.
I remember the good old days of this site when people used to moan about serious contractor related issues like house prices and immigration. How times have changed!?

The latest version of the Land Cruiser looks too effeminate... but a good car underneath

Oh the "I’m all right jack" mentality, what about everyone else who has to put up with a lower survival chance if they come into contact with one? Personally I could afford one if I want but I have a social conscience and feel they are unnecessary for a vast majority of the people who buy them, I don’t dislike them because they guzzle gas it’s more that our roads were never designed to accommodate them, they are a danger to other road users and pedestrians.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
