I have to say, to the anti 4x4 brigade, it's like anything in life, if you cannot afford it then it's tough, if you can't afford 1st class safety then get a better job
as has been mentioned before it's the majority of saloon cars that should be made greener, not simply the easy way out picking on the small percentage of 4x4's
Chance of a pedestrian surviving an impact with a 4x4 compared to a saloon car is significantly lower.
So, if you must buy one, don't drive like a c&nt."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

Thought about a landcruiser ??
I've had a 98 td for the last 6 years. Gets a hard life, tows a lot, across my fields etc. No real bothers - did have a clutch at 140k though.
Reasonably civilised on the road too. Personally I found it loads better than a shogun which I just didn't like.Comment

Milan.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment
