Airbrushing of history
It's all very well teaching tolerance however.
There is also this tendency to airbrush history to justify our modern morals. I don't know how many saw Torchwood.
In the last episode The (real) Jack Harkness was gay and fell for the (pretend) Jack Harkness. All very well but the ended their time together with a homosexual dance gazing lovingly into each others eyes. The (real) Jack Harkness then went of to fly off to get shot down by the Luftwaffe the next day.
All very well except in 1940 homosexuality was illegal, and such relationships would have ended one in a jail. Certainly in the military Homosexual relationships were not accepted until the last few years.
Dancing in public would almost certainly have resulted in arrest for lewd behaviour. The real Jack Harkness should have been in a jail, not flying over the Kent countryside getting shot down by German fighters!
It's this kind of airbrushing of history which is really getting silly. Two blokes dancing would not have been accepted in 1940's England however much our 21st century morals would have liked it.
Accept it.

Why all the fuss about what some people get up to in the privacy of their own homes anyway. Seem's kinda pointless. Not sure I want sex in any guise being discussed with 5yr olds, but equally I don't want anyone being stigmatised because of their sexual preferences later in life. Snaw, I have never experienced anyone being abused for being gay, in either the workplace or otherwise. AFAIK it doesn't happen very often, it's certainly not a massive problem we have in society anymore. The gay rights campaigners have worked tirelessly over the years to make gay cool. Most people don't really want to know about homosexual issues, however someone thinks we need to promote gayness in schools to very young children. Why are they doing this?
