Sexual perversion: an aberrant sexual practice that is preferred to normal intercourse

Aberrant: Deviating from the proper or expected course.
Deviating from what is normal; untrue to type.

    So technically Baggie is correct

Sounds like pretty much anyone who has ever made a significant advance to human knowledge.

          My ramblings:
I don't care where you stick your willy as long as it doesn't harm anyone (unless they want to be harmed in which case, go ahead).
I don't hide the facts of life from my kids, but I don't surpress their inquisition either. If they ask about gay people (and they know some of our friends who are gay - including some that have children) then I talk about it in the same way I would if they asked about mixed race couples, single parents or any other kind of family unit you can think of.
If their school introduced books featuring contrived "same-sex" couples they won't pay any attention to them anyway. If the books have an entertaining story then they might, but to be honest, it's still a homework book - something you spout back to your parent/teacher and forget when you read Harry Potter or something similar.
Children aren't stupid and they will recognise a dull book (and I'll bet you a fiver that the ones mentioned here will be very dull indeed).

so you didnt say this then.

Being gay is a sexual perversion, albeit a socially acceptable one. It should never be described as being normal, it isn't normal or even more in this case more normal than straight. A hetrosexual relationship is normal, no amount of spin should change that. As someone said above, we shouldn't be confusing small children.
Why should a term used to describe a group be regrded as homophobic? I think you are beginning to drown in your own inneptitude.

It is a sexual perversion by definition.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Back to Bagpuss's point - when those five-year-olds become ten, what should their sex education be like - should we include your list of alternatives? And explain to the class that "For those who have two daddies they do this, but it won't produce a baby, they have to get it from somewhere else?"
                think

we should teach children about reproduction - and this involves at the basic level sperm n egg - that is how we get babies

why schools feel they then need to try to teach about arse f@@king is beyond me.

So in your little world practicing a sexual perversion doesn't make you a pervert or abnormal?

                  Get a grip.

Admit what you said and move on.

You are just hiding behind semantics. Add to the discussion or piss off.

                  Back to the topic.
The stories children read or have read to them in their formative years shape their world view in later years.
They learn about society and relationships as they go. The standard prince wakes up princess leads to a romanticised view of how mummy met daddy etc.
This can lead them to believe that only hetro relationships are right.

So what happens when John finds his urges are not towards Jane.
As he has no reference point, in fact usualy has a negative reference point (he is a fookin poof) he ends up going through years of angst and self loathing before finding out he is OK (if he hasn't topped himself first).

Simple examples of same sex relationships writen into stories early in life will provide the positive reference point he needs. He will still suffer the poof/faggot brigade, but his own understanding may give him a better chance.

(Same goes for Jane if she is that way inclined)

Nobody is suggesting sexual references, prince charming doesnt shag snow white, so why should you assume these stories are any different?

It is your own sad little world view that makes you see this as wrong.
