      Eh? What? We're not robots!!!

Look baggy, have you ever actually taken any of these drugs you're so knowledged about? Or are you just spouting the medical crap you hear on Trisha?
Everything that is pleasurable has some long term negative effect on your body or mind (depending which medical report you read).

When I say they dont feck your mind up, I mean when you take them, they dont make you halucinate, or think mental thoughts or anything. They just get you all rushy and feeling lush and stuff

Those 2 substances in my view are far better for you (in the short term, and probably long term aswell, although I'm not a doctor) than booze. I'd rather have my kids/neices etc on coke than jack daniels. 100%.

I'm not anti drugs, people should realise there is no clean drug though. Messing around with your brain on a regular basis will cause damage. It all depends how important your mental heath is to you. When you take illegal drugs you are in effect taking part in an uncontrolled clinical trial with the medication prepared by nefarious characters rather than a trained pharmacist.
Many people don't consider this at all, perhaps they should.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Sally I know what I am talking about, it's not speculation it's fact. Your attitude is pretty shocking.

It's a bit like inducing diabetes, the brain can no longer regulate it's serotonin levels (like a diabetic can't control blood sugar levels), and therefore a control medication is required (usual antidepressant).
Depends how you define long term use. I've used them (Not for a few years now I got to say) for over 15 years. I'm a happily married, with a family, a job and no need for prescription medication, and never been depressed in my life (Except for when celtic lost the uefa cup final).

Most of my friends likewise were the same and some took incredible quantities of Class A's, almost all have calmed down or stopped completely as they got older, and the one guy I know who has a problem, also has an alcohol problem (And a porn problem, and a prostitute adiction problem). I do know plenty of people who I'd class as alcoholics who've never touched a 'drug' in their lives and have done quite a few things they regret and have got some serious issues, personal and health, due to it.

Personally it's not the health that annoys me, it's the complete hypocrisy of highlighting the illegal ones and glossing over the legal equivalents.

Snaw, I don't disagree with you, but I know many people who are depressed after long term cocaine, ecstacy or amphetamine use. These were people doing it every weekend for years, not the occassional time or a bing for a few months.

Gradually these people need more (because the brain starts to lose the ability to regulate serotonin). They need drugs everytime they go out, eventually it becomes a downward spiral into depression. I'm not saying it happens to everyone, but most people will experience it, it's a biological/chemical reaction.

I know quite alot about the action of drugs due to my job, I know the facts, I don't chose to ignore them. I think all drugs should be legalised, but people should be more aware of the negatives.

a/ You don't seem to care about the negative effects, infact you just dismiss them even so much as disputing the existence. Just have a look in any medical text, it's not conjecture. They have been around long enough for people to understand the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics

b/ You'd encourage your relatives to take them

I know, whats your point? You are saying legalise all drugs on one hand but they should not be available on the NHS on the other? Are you suggesting we give dealers a license? Fair enough if they are taxed appropriately as alcohol and tobacco are but that would make them expensive again and then you would be back to square one with a black market. Prescription is the only way to get any kind of control.
