Funily enough I saw one using indicators on a lane change on the M6 this morning. First time ever for seeing a BMW do that. Agree about the Audi's though!

The amount due is based on the total wages bill for each team, according to the players who participated in the game (even if only subbed on for a few minutes), no deductions for anyone taken off injured. The amount to be paid is determined by when each team scores their first goal, so the earlier a goal is scored, the lower the tax.
If neither team scores within the normal 90 minute match duration then 100% of the wages for that match are due as tax. This tax cannot be offset against PAYE / NIC liabilities.
That should (a) make the early minutes of all games more interesting and (b) drive down the frankly nuts wages for a bunch of overpaid shampoo models.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

Looking at their stats for last season, only the minute in which the goal is scored was recorded so assuming each goal was scored exactly on the minute, they would have incurred a bill of £164,147,524.21
So, for one game where there's an early score, I agree not much revenue. But looking over a whole season, with all the no-score draws that happen. Kerching!

How about capital gains tax on our main homes, plus scrap council tax and replace with an annual recurring property tax as a % of a properties purchase price? The money to be spent by the goverment pissing it up the wall in the usual manner.
Wait, did I hear this stupid idea somewhere before...?Comment

How about stationary vehicle pollution tax; vehicles to be fitted with a device to detect if not moving and engine running for more than 2 minutes. This then communicates with the pump at the filling station and applies a £20 tax per recorded event, collected when filling up.Comment
