Travelling by train. Things can only get better.

Just traveling from Guildford to Brighton. Bus replacement service from Redhill to Gatwick. We're all standing in various lines for various destinations from Redhill. The staff are standing 100m calling out the destinations as the buses arrive. Barely audible.

The driver, blindly following GPS ends up in a cul-de-sac and has to back up a narrow residential road.

Train from Gatwick. Change at Three Bridges. Only we get off to find the same train goes to Brighton in five minutes...

    Completely bonkers.

At least the trains have aircon.

So do most of my cars. They also have the advantage of not being filled with the great unwashed British public.

Back in the old days I would have told you to stop off and say hello, but I'm no longer in Surrey so that doesn't really work

Due to expense and terrible service lots of trains aren't as full as they used to be.

Plus they now have aircon and WiFi so you can sit and read.

The wifi is intermittent at best. Certainly I can't work through it.
