If it's 999 years it is viewed as freehold for valuation purposes. The ground rent will be less than £200 per yearOriginally posted by SockpuppetIf its a least hold then I shall be running a mile. I certainly don't want to pay
ground rent - or to be sitting on land someone else owns. The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Its psychological though. I'd be suprised if it was leashold though as the houses are seperated from the flats by a road (well cul-de-sac).Originally posted by BagpussIf it's 999 years it is viewed as freehold for valuation purposes. The ground rent will be less than £200 per year
Apart from the tarmac out the front that the cars sit on (2 spaces per house) there is not much in the way of shared ground that we all need.Comment

Presumably Ned Ludd is a local councillor who has been tipped a bung to approve the scheme?
Take a good look for storage space. Modern houses tend to maximise 'living space' at the expense of storage space. You will need somewhere to store crap like ironing boards, vacuums, bikes, misc junk. Plus, if the bedrooms haven't got built in wardrobes you will need some of those.
Looks a quite reasonable BTL. I might have it.Guy Fawkes - "The last man to enter Parliament with honourable intentions."Comment

If you're at all concerned about nearby development, check with the local district council planning department & see if there have been any applications. You could also check whether they are planning to put any flood defenses in between you and that boggy fieldLife is just nature's way of keeping meat fresh

Yeah, I plan to get a small shed for the back. Just enough to put a bike in. As for Ironing board I have no idea if I'll even have one.
Isn't it the usual method that you have to get a girlfriend to operate said ironing board first? I'll work on that one....much more fun.Comment
