Well it seems there are plenty of sex pests and muggers.

According to the royal mail the postcode is LE7 7AQ not AT.

But Acorn hasnt classified this yet.

The whole of my town is a flood plane - I could sell mine tomorrow as it's a nice area.

Then sell it and get above the water line. Global warming is going to raise sea levels you know.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Why can't they just build better houses - jesus-cars are constantly improving even 10 years makes a huge difference, why are we going backwards/sideways in house building ? NHBC signs everywhere and still people expect them to be crap - huge snagging lists etc. There should be laws invoking penalties. Yes I know they throw them up and forget but they shouldn't be able to.
And don't tell me about old houses - they are a pain in the @rse too, like an old car constantly needing some work doing (and I hate getting people in to do it) I want to move in, live there and forget about it, if I want an annoying 'hobby' I play golf.
There should be enough margin with current prices (I wager a brick hasn't gone up 300%) to build them to a decent standard.

Completely agree. You only have to travel in Germany or Switzerland to see how property ought to be built. It's a national scandal.

                  the funny thing is,

                  if they'd use Porotherm blocks,

                  http://www.wienerberger.com/servlet/...wb_com_home_en

like they do in DE, CH, CZ, A etc

the houses would be cheaper to build, it is much cheaper and quicker to build walls with Porotherm than the archaic craftsman built twin walls with cavity

plus the Porotherm blocks have better thermo properties

and that's only the beginning !

                  Milan.

when deciding what to build we thought about a log house, and they are beautiful but the cost was too high, so we went for the traditional region materials in the end

                      granted though, they are beautiful
