Btw, war is good for the economy, just started my 4th year with current client - outside IR35, too...

yes agreed, and as long as they pay by the hour then we're good to go aren't we :-)

So we will definitely be starting with 20 to 25% and then it depends on how I am able to make it all work, the sky is the limit so to speak.

Your thoughts on the world are aligned with mine and congrats for the 4th year kerching

      Ms Muck,

with all due respect, Love, you've been talking about getting an Irish ID since Brexit.

Isn't it about time ? Or are you enjoying the wonders of procrastination ?

ffs, yesterday I applied for a hybrid contract in..... Manchester, if I get that one then a higher being is having a larf

do I really want to go there once a month ?

man o man for the love of contracting

        Milan.

p.s. I asked for 30% more than the higher end of what they want to pay so that should take care of that

          I am a master procrastinator.

Also, my grandfather didn't have a birthday certificate, and was never registered officially. Found a record of his baptism after two years searching many dead ends. His parents married 10y after he was born but it looks like his mum didn't marry his biological father as there's no father listed on the baptism. His 'father' lied on his UK army sign up forms and said he had been married since before my grandfather was born! Much shenanigans.

Then, after all that, I found out that I could have used my grandmother's birthday certificate. Apparently someone born in norn iron is also eligible. I thought I had her birth and death certificates but can't find them in my collection of evidence so will have to reorder those.

Finally, the last faff is getting the right person to counter sign the forms. This means booking a visit to a solicitor with my brother (as he wants one too) and my Alzheimer's ridden mother who won't have a clue what's going on.

          Bet you're glad you asked

Having an Irish Passport in addition to a British one can limit the kind of work you can do - so be aware...

I don't think that's going to be a real issue for me. If it's something requiring SC/DV then I'm unlikely to be moving in those circles. I'm also sure that vetting will be able to tell the brexit exiles from the ones who would cause concern.

                  Ms Muck,

based upon the current pace of getting this second passport sorted out, I don't think you have anything to worry about regarding UK SC :-)

If you're out of contract, shouldn't you be whining about the weather in (insert chav holiday spot here> and having to give up your <BTL/tesla/holiday villa> ???
                    just asking.......

I'm not out of contract yet, it ends at the end of April and they are asking to continue at up to 50%

so it's not like, you know, we'll be forced in to, you know, horror of horrors, trading in the Passat or moving to a smaller bedsit

                      Milan.
