so the contract ended at the end of April, and the market was quieter than I have ever seen it, and with Easter and the May 1st holidays around Europe

and to cut a long story short, have landed a contract for 18 months at a 10% higher rate and start on the coming Monday

so all in all was on the bench for three weeks, had a good break and got loads of long running jobs completed at home

the new contract is very interesting work with a previous customer all in all a good result

    all the best

    Milan.

I got extended to the end of July with client #1. Client #2 extended me to the end of the year but cut my hours from an average 16 to 10 per week. Since then they've said that they want me to go full time from the end of July. Will see what actually materialises in a couple of months time.

so it's not like, you know, we'll be forced in to, you know, horror of horrors, trading in the Passat or moving to a smaller bedsit

I was wondering if you still had the Passat. Surely after all those years of .Net you should now be a tax exile by now.

we don't have the passat any more but it is still on the road, the man I sold it to is still running it

p.s. the new contract is 18 months, 95% work from home, and expected to have long extensions and so, my wife and I can be digital nomads, how cool is that :-)

Not cheap these days Passats, I could only afford a Golf Estate. Bad move letting that go.

I started retiring about 5 years ago, and it's finally stuck on the 3rd attempt, I found I was nodding off too much at my terminal.
