    Job searching websites

I have been using the above, meaning Reed, Indeed, Jobsearch, Jobsite etc for about 20 years, those sites that have been around that long. I am increasingly finding that the search results are producing vacancies way of from the criteria that I have input. Nothing could be simpler than I.T./Telecoms (if that category exists) and Contract, Temporary, if both those categories exist.
Why are so many results for permanent posts? Over & over each day I am scrolling through vacancies that are irrelevant to me. I gather that since the advent of IR35, or for other reasons, the ratio of perm:temp jobs has increased markedly, but why is it so hard to filter out the perm jobs? I am not writing boolean search scripts here, just ticking boxes!

That's all you need to see. Jobserve has been the place for contract roles for over 10 years. I look at this and linkedin and that's it. The other sites don't seem very popular for contractors. As far as I am aware, and correct me if I am wrong, speak to any recruiter about jobs and they'll mention they post them on jobserve.

That said, I hope I'm wrong because there is absolutely sod all on there I could apply for even going back 7 days.

10 years? Jobserve has been the go to place for contracts for 30 years - I remember it back in 1995...

ISTR using Gisajob back in 1997. Them were the days. Even I could fill me boots.

Jobserve is still useful, but things have and are still moving on.

Linkedin (used passively and interactively) and phone calls from agents who already have my CV on their books is how my last few gigs have started.

I've had more luck via LinkedIn but the search on that platform is dire. I get decent enough results with Jobserve.

However, I did recently sign up to Malt, which netted me a little part time gig that I'm doing alongside the full time one. The client approached me on the platform and then we actually did all the negotiation off-platform so they don't take a cut! This leads me to think that it might not last very long

Useful, I hadn't heard of Malt.

Have a look through the back pages of "Computer Weekly" or "Computing", ring the agent and then fax along your CV.

                    Always worked for me...
