No parting shots here. However, when asked by agencies if I'll go back to some clients I just say, "depends on who I'd be working with, there's some interesting characters there".
Only terminated one contract early and in what resembled an exit interview I had to point out to the offending manager that we weren't getting on well, which staggeringly he had failed to notice until that point.
I had one contract that didn't go well that they terminated a couple of weeks early (they tended to do that regardless of your contribution) and one of the senior managers detected I wasn't afraid to speak my mind and gave me the floor to speak a few home truths about his department but it was measured and he did ask,
Generally speaking, smile sweetly, get your time sheet signed (going back a while), hand your pass in, go home and have a bit of a break while looking for something new. Individuals, projects and companies have to work out of themselves they are dysfunctional. No one else can do it for them.
Nope. Even when I have been fuming and hated working with some people I was always polite and friendly.
Apart from ... this one time when a client refused to pay my invoice but were not smart enough to realise that the code they urgently needed for their only client that made them any money was in one of my repos on GitHub. I removed their access and asked for my money. Although I am not sure if this counts as much as they were furious I was friendly and polite the entire time.

Always* avoided walking off leaving potential future clients with ill-feeling. Just behave professionally and terminate within the contract terms.
*Even when the reason for me walking was a team leader who got shirty about me spending time outside my "lunch hour" on the phone to my mother when I'd learned ny father had had a heart attack. Twat.
