Dig only a tiny bit deeper and you find that actually he wasn't that great a commodities trader and his success was that he was good at persuading people to invest in his less than stellar ventures.

Personally, I'd much prefer to be governed by people who've done jobs that help people than those whose sole motive was to enrich themselves. There's a greater likelihood that they'll make decisions that are genuinely intended to benefit the country as a whole, not just themselves and their wealthy chums or backers.

It's not that hard. Make 40 the minimum age to apply to be an MP. It would greatly increase the chances of someone having had a real job first...

Although of course, as long as being a political advisor is a "real" job, perhaps it wouldn't help that much!
        Blog? What blog...?

Oddly he was employed by plenty of reasonable companies and made a few quid without any shock exposes.
Best they have managed was is his ex wife was German..

I love this idea that only the truly saintly can possibly run a government fairly, Jeremy Hunt was hated by the left when he tried to fix the NHS. Starmer is in the middle of a mess of his own making, Angela claimer has honesty issues with her CV etc. I assume you loved Maggie who truly believed and walked the walk.

You can't buy a better motor oil.

Jeremy Hunt, on the other, not so much.
