My uncle was asking me the other weekend what my plans were for the next 5 or 10 years and was shocked by the "haven't got a clue" response.Comment

Same as me: just went with the flow until some mofo or other upset me, then fecked off to do something else.Originally posted by I just need to test it View PostNot much planning gone on here. Just a serious of mostly lucky accidents.

I'm still slightly amazed that some of the mofos referred to are still above ground.

Knowing what I know and being where I am (usual disclaimer) my views on Plan B's are thus:

Similar. I finished work in April and taking a year sabbatical. Could fully retire now in early 50s but I'm too young, so now planning to work part of the year, starting next spring. Take enough to pay the bills and a few holidays, draw the rest from my investment income.Originally posted by ChimpMaster View PostSemi-retired at 47, took an easy ride on a doss permie job and watching the investments bring in more than my contracting income did.
Spending freely, not chasing money any more. Time is the most valuable commodity and I'm using as much of it as I can to be with my kids. The money chase is just a distraction and I'm so much happier that I don't do it any more.
Life is too short to work ourselves into the ground. We get one chance, live it to the max. We can always make more money, we can't make more time!
Oh, I'm back again - wanted to see how things had changed since I was last here, seems not much at all. Same old same old
I am what I drink, and I'm a bitter man
