    The beeb is biased

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-coverage.html

The BBC is fourteen times more likely to accuse Israel of genocide than Hamas, a study of its coverage of the conflict has shown.

The report which analysed the BBC's output across different platforms over a four-month period found a 'deeply worrying pattern of bias' against Israel.

The research, led by British lawyer Trevor Asserson, revealed the BBC associated Israel with genocide 283 times compared to 19 times for Hamas - a 14 fold difference.

Considering that for every 1 Israeli killed by Hamas the Israelies kill ~20 Palestinians, I reckon the BBC has it just about right.

No Bias there then, no Sir.

I suspect the devil is in the detail.

If the BBC is merely reporting accusations levelled at Israel by various countries/organisations/protest groups, then that might explain the disparity. I've heard countless such accusations over recent months.

I've no doubt Hamas would wish genocide on Israel but that's all it is, pure wishful thinking, and hardly newsworthy.

Just because Hamas are tulip at killing IDF soldiers that isn't really an argument. Clearly Hamas much prefer killing unarmed civilians.

Are you sure the Israeli's killed all of these?

I like the racist way you assume because the researcher is Jewish then the data is falsified yet when you hear numbers from a terrorist organisation they must be right.

Demonstrating your inability to argue effectively you decide (again) to resort to ad hominem attacks. Argue the point. At no point did I claim that the data was falsified, I intimated that Trevor Asserson may himself have reason to be biased. A little investigation into Mr Asserson's history will show that he's had a case against the BBC since 2023.

Asserson argues this reflects a systemic bias within the BBC that undermines its duty to impartiality.

So because he has been challenging their bias for years that makes him wrong? Its not just him being Jewish that is important to you?

Associated press seem to agree with him

But even without that footage, additional videos of rocket fire in the direction of the hospital, photos from the explosion site and other evidence leave unchanged AP’s original assessment that a rocket launched from Gaza the night of Oct. 17 most likely went astray and hit the medical center’s courtyard. Though AP reached its analysis independently, U.S. and French intelligence agencies have shared the same conclusion.
            Maybe they are all Jewish?

perhaps if there were independent journalists allowed into Gaza to report - without restrictions or risk of being shot - it might help the situation.

Duh you know its a war zone don't you?

One can go as an embedded reporter with the IDF just like most active war zones. Something that a number of BBC journalists have done as have a number of independents.

                  https://www.voanews.com/a/media-weig...a/7476768.html

Up until the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7, journalists could enter Gaza with credentials from Israel’s Government Press Office and permission from Hamas, which governs Gaza.

Israeli journalists — and nationals in general — are not permitted to enter Gaza, and neither are Palestinians who live in the occupied West Bank.

But since October 7, journalists looking to report from Gaza are able to enter only if they embed with the IDF and agree to conditions, including to not wander from the IDF tour and to submit coverage for prepublication approval by the military

may or may not have something to do with this, note Hamas (who rule Gaza) are not offering embedding maybe ask them to take you along?:

                  At least 85 journalists killed

To date, the only exception has been CNN’s Clarissa Ward, who in December entered Gaza via Rafah without an IDF escort.

Hamas, meanwhile, has never offered embeds, reporters say, and typically blocked journalists from covering the group’s military activity.

The IDF did not reply to VOA’s email requesting comment.

But Lior Haiat, the spokesperson of Israel’s Foreign Ministry, told VOA that Hamas “is manipulating information of civilians and reporters.”

Haiat claimed that nearly half of the reporters that Hamas has said were killed by Israel “were actually terrorists.”

Ah, travel with the IDF, because you'll be allowed to see what they allow you to see. Sounds perfectly unbiased.

Maybe it's got something to do with the claims that anyone who is with Hamas or might be supporting hamas is a "legitimate target"?
