    DELL Customer Database Hacked

Those nice people at DELL have sent me an email telling me that my details from their customer database have been hacked and stolen.

I supposed its nice of them to let me know.

Funny that they attempt to sell me more DELL kit in the same email... "er we screwed up, but while we are here would you like some more of our stuff?" lol, found that bit so hilarious.

It's an endless stream of large corporates with deep pockets that have been hacked in recent years. I'm starting to think you just need to assume you will suffer from a major attack or breach either directly or via a supplier and get your BCP sorted accordingly.

But make sure that your account password is 120393801932 characters long and has numbers, letters and special characters.

          To coin a phrase

Hackers only have to get lucky once, targets have to be lucky every time.

Though frequently you find they are lazy in hindsight
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

            Same email here.

There was an article in The Register about it.
