This is why Saudi Arabia, Dubai etc. have been seeking to normalising relationships with Israel. They recognise Iran as the bigger threat.

If the West had ignored Putin's invasion of Ukraine, then Iran would have attacked Israel, and China would have attacked Taiwan. As it is, Iran is now fighting a proxy war. And the Palestinians are bearing the brunt.

Iran / Israel absolutely not. Israel has nukes, Iran does not and US support for Israel is fare more solid and unquestionable than people ever thought it would be for Ukraine. More importantly, Iran doesn't really care about Israel currently, it's just red meat for the masses. Iran is all about taking down the Saudis and pretty much all conflicts in the region are proxy wars for both of them. Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon. Even Palestine is an attempt to draw Saudis into conflict with Israel.

Iran have complete control of the region would not be a good outcome.

I was in an Arabic country over the weekend. Not a single Palestine flag. No 'free Palestine' demos. It seems to be a western ideology that the Palestinians should be saved. And the majority of those westerners are left-wing, middle class and white, or poor Pakistani (also not Arabs).

And as for holy war, the big holy war is between Sunni and Shia. Interesting that Iran who funds Hamas and Hezbollah are mostly Shia, and Palestinians are mostly Sunni. Convenient to let them be killed when they are only one one step above the Jews who they are fighting.

saudi and israel were close to a "deal" so the timing of this by "Iran" is well suited.

Ignoring all the horror of what's going on, but damn Israel has it's tulip together when it comes to rapid mobilisation.

Rambam hospital has been ordered to stand up their emergency wards. The 3 level carpark under the hospital is fortified and purposely built to triple the hospitals bed capacity within 72 hours.

Really hope it doesn't mean they are going into Gaza, I can't see how that can end anything other than badly.

There is irony with the situation. Iran and Russian are close allies and trading partners. Iran sees Ukraine as an "Israeli client state run by a Nazi Jew". Russia is a close friend Israel because of the very large Russian-Jewish population in Israel and Russia. Iran has used Hamas to attack Israel after poring millions of dollars in to Hamas' hands. South Lebanon has about 20,000 Iranians integrated with Hezbollah since 1979. Russian and Hezbollah are far from friends since Hezbollah kidnapped Russian Officials. The Spetsnaz promptly cut the head off the Hezbollah messenger and sent it back to the leader. Hezbollah did not bother Russians after that.

Wasn't Israel claiming recently that this time they will solve the Gaza problem once and for all? Hamas gave them an opportunity that is hard to turn down, imho they will simply wipe Gaza off the surface and be done.

There are over 2 million people in Gaza, whatever happens there will still be over a million people left that will need to go somewhere, and reality is no one wants them.
