Re-branding to shake off the British colonial past.
While global Britain is brown nosing India and being ignored, India is making favorable trade deals with Iran and Russia

I read about this proposal a few weeks ago. If India officially renames itself Bharat (at the UN etc), Pakistan will leap in and claim the name India - so it's never going to happen. Bharat has been an unofficial name for India for a long time.

Canada is now openly blaming Indian agents for killing Sikh separatist on Canadian soil.
