Do banned dogs then get destroyed?

They should probably beef up the law that conviction for keeping a banned breed results in a lifetime ban from owning a dog or residing in a household with a dog.

I don't see the point in the licence costing £50 other than to deter poor people from own a dog? If you wrap up the insurance with the licence fee then that's probably fair.

It's already illegal to tulip in the street/parks and not pick it up, I think it's even fineable to be walking a dog and failing on request to show you are carrying poop bags.

No more than 2 dogs basically destroys the dog walker market, which will have a detrimental impact on the welfare of dogs (leading to behavioural problems). You would be effectively doubling or tripling the cost of having someone walk your dog while you are at work. Perhaps require muzzles if walking more than 2 med/large dogs?

Only responsible owners will get one. Most will ignore it (or claim they can't afford it)

They already are. The question is, why isn't the list amendable without government intervention and changes the the law.

My dog has plenty of mussels. Muzzles are required for certain breeds already. That said I passed a dog recently with a muzzle and it couldn't pant in 30 degree heat...

Impossible to enforce (unless you can teach dogs to read). Not picking up is already a £1000 fine. Enforcement is the problem

The limit is six. However, it's dogs off leads that are the problem (or sidding big angry ones that owners can't hang on to...)


It's not dogs per se that are the problem, it's idiot/moronic/socially irresponsible "look at me I'm tuff" owners. There is no justification for owning an artificial, f***ed up crossbred animal like a Bully XL Put them in prison, not the dogs.

Just for clarity, mine is an English Staffie who is the softest most gentle dog I've ever had. And have you ever thought that Cockapoos - everybody favourite furbaby - are a mix of two aggressive hunting breeds, both with known rage issues.

In my experience, the small ones are the worst for being nasty and bitey. (Albeit they probably can't maul you to death, or reach your nuts.)
