Does anyone have a recommendations for dashcams?

I've been told that I need one. I've not needed one for the past 30-odd years, but apparently that doesn't count. I now do what I'm told because ICBA arguing anymore.

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'd prefer one that's not as ugly as sin... though I realise that this might be a stretch objective.

    Thanks.

BlackVue front and rear. Very small and unobtrusive. Doesn't have a screen for playback but I find that a distraction and not key feature.

Bit pricey but IMO worth it if you ever need it and it's latest tech so got a couple of years in it. Costs a bit to unpick and get someone to install properly in the next car but small potatoes in the bigger scheme of things.

If you want to go cheap just to tick a box I had one of these for a few years. Did the job but only needed to pull the video to show my other half something once but I'd be going 4k minimum now just for future proofing. Also didn't seem worth spending more on the installation than the camera was worth, but it was really.

I'm also interested in this, as I see more and more awful driving and it's only a matter of time until I'll need to show that an incident wasn't my fault!

        Thanks.

I do like the look of the Blackvue... and there's a healthy discount on their devices during "Prime Day". Added to the short list. Much appreciated.

May be worth checking it's a genuine discount by looking at the price history on https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/

Hmm, there don't appear to be many independent reviews for these. Those on Trustpilot are brutal. That's a shame as they are the prettiest (relatively speaking). I'll keep them on the short list for now. Cheers.

Nextbase are pretty good but i'm not sure how aesthetically pleasing you will find them.

Nextbase do review well, but, as you say, they're near the bottom of the pile for looks.

I've got a Nextbase 402G here in a box and just didn't want to put it in. I am absolutely sure it does everything it says it will. Just didn't fancy it over the little cigar ones.

But, wattaj , if you are just wanting a cheap camera to put in I'd happily send it over. It's all there, opened the box to have a look at the product but it's never been installed and I don't think I've ever turned it on. Keep meaning to sell it but never got around to it so yours if you want it.
