I do have bum with a hole but not sure why it was predicatble?

      True.

I've also re-read what Zig said, and I had misunderstood him earlier.

I now understand it as "how do we convince 26% of a group of people that racists are not actually racist"
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

Aren't that 26% the actual racists though? Thinking it's not OK to be white sounds pretty racist to me.

Unfortunately, saying "it's Ok to be white" also appears to be construed as racist.

In my opinion, it's a bit like the "N" word, it's not the saying of the word, or the context, it's who is saying it.

That's a good point and can be made to any opposing views but I can't help thinking in a situation where it is OK/Not OK to be a skin colour, it's a totally flawed argument that it being OK to be anything reasonable, like your skin colour, is a racist comment if you get me. To say it's not OK to be white, gay, jewish whatever just doesn't fit in any narrative in this day and age. Being OK to who you are should be fundamentally correct. I think in your example, calling OK to be white a racist comment is a real push. I'm sure you are absolutely correct though, and people will take it out of context like you say but very hard to take it seriously.
That said just looking at the statements like all lives matter and blue lives matter etc, which are totally true but as you say have become racist. Makes my head spin.

The N word is an interesting point though. Saying out of context is bad, I get that, so I don't understand why that peer group use it as much. Surely pick another word and people won't trip up. Look at the Jade Goodey thing. She used it out of context rather innocently, because she was rapping and that's what rappers do and was labelled a hateful racist. Felt really sorry for her as she was just a silly girl that said something daft. But it is what it is I guess. But that's a different discussion for a differnt day.

EDIT : The above paragraph actually shows again that the problem is cuture not race. Many black people hate the N word and won't use it as well.

I'm not sure why that mitigates far right extremism though. The right in America claim all the extremist behaviour is from the far left - feminazis, antifa, etc and there is some truth in that (look at Portland, OR) but they also claim that all the forest fires in that really bad patch were deliberately started by the left to 'fake climate issues' and that the authorities in Oregon, California, etc were actively encouraging the protestors and looters.

The right say they are travelling to these 'riots' with guns as concerned citizens to stop looting, the left say 'violent militia' are coming to 'attack peaceful protestors'.

From my exposure to the US, these are not the views of tiny fringe minorities. In 'rural right' areas they are widespread otherwise Trump would never have got elected, look how many people attend his rallies. These are the views of many pretty average families who are not raving loonies, except that they carry a bapback fun of guns and wear body armour when they go to Walmart.

Oh absolutely. Nothing mitigates far right extremism. The point I was making was WTFH mentioned the far right was preventing democracy and that division happens when extreme views are normalised. Just pointing out the same thing could be applied to far left thinking. Granted it doesn't demonstrate it in the ways you've mentioned above but it can still cause division.

With all the division going on in the US over the last few years you didn't think it was predicatable that race relations was going to take a nose dive in the last 10 years???

Ugh.. You've nailed it then. Can't argue with that. So I still think my point was right about the statement itself but it appears I mis-judged it when it comes to it becoming a slogan like this. The world has gone mad.
