If we are millions short where do these people live now? I don't think many would-be home-owners are on the streets. Meanwhile there are entire towns standing empty.

You've missed one of the other recent threads where this was discussed.

Vetran was horrified by some of the right wing stuff I came out with.

Horrified you posted things he agreed with more likely

Anyway at least one retailer has acceded to your wish to reduce risks by banning things that might be misused:

M&S stops selling disposable barbecues across UK

Ridiculous. What next..? Kitchen knives in case someone cuts themselves....?

              It's a slippery slope.

              It'll be self-driving cars next.

              Oh... wait....

Sorry I object to burning down the parks including national trust ones, commons, communal green spaces etc next to and near me due to a desire for poorly cooked sausages and burgers. I also don't like to see people homeless due to it.

So do I. But I don't think we should just ban things. Especially based on one really hot day, in a country which doesn't really have much problem with fires. Let's ban X because every few decades there's a problem.
Glass bottles cause a lot of fires, should they be banned?

I take it you don't live near moorland or much open space? As it is not just one hot day in one year.

Oh, so when you talk about people setting parks on fire you're actually talking about gorse-fires, which aren't linked to disposable BBQs? BBQs are in the news specifically due to fires linked to the heat-wave, lazy people taking them to the park. Don't twist the story to fit your own desire to ban them for things they're not linked to.

I live in the country and there are fires every summer from local kids sneaking into the woods to cause trouble. None of them are due to BBQs. Arson is more of a problem than thick BBQ users.
