Think you're projecting there. Both the queen and William take their duty and position very seriously - not sure the same can be said for Charles or the rest of them.

But that's not the narrative you've been told to believe.
What narrative do you have that is supported by facts?

Are we talking about the politically motivated strikes in 1972 designed to get the red flag flying higher?

          https://api.parliament.uk/historic-h...de-unions-role

Do you think there may have been a link between lack of energy and price rises? Do you think it might be a world problem as B'ruin kept claiming in 2008?

          https://www.worlddata.info/europe/un...tion-rates.php

Labour left in 1970 with inflation raising from 3.28% (USA 1.28%) in 1964 to 6.37% (USA 5.84%) in 1970 so inflation was well on its way before the Tories took over. In 1973 it was 9.20% (USA 6.8%).

Maybe something was happening? Can we blame the UK government for a world oil crises?

Today’s inflation rate is comparable to that during the 1973 oil crisis.
So it seems the narrative is a bit more complex than red = good , Blue=bad.

1972 I remember using candles for homework.

I remember the miner strikes in 78/79 & 84/85 they were political, Maggie's response in 1984 was to curtail the unions , earlier strikes were the same but we gave in.

or are we talking about the winter of discontent when Labour were in charge? This was eventually fixed by by Maggie taking power.

A lot more than you would probably think, including both my grandfathers, who were deputies.

Sensible thing to have really, if this is only used to prevent strikes at bad timings (like the ones Unions want to use), for example limit strikes on railway transport to be during period of 2am-6am, now that would be tidy

Also, maybe it's time for a grand experiment in which one of those Unions will be sold a railway line for £1 and they can run it anyway they like, set whatever salaries, prices for tickets etc...

Nope because some of the workers going on strike are the infrastructure guys - so if they don't fix the line while you are sleeping (except if you live next to a line while it is being fixed) then the trains won't be running the next day anyway.

Is there a recommended handy app for rail disruption notifications?
