Sanctions have been talked about for a good while and, at some point, pretty much every Russian organisation is going to come under scrutiny. It is a pragmatic approach from many angles. Sell them while you can, before trading in those companies gets banned. Also it does look hypercritical to be bad mouthing Russia while still investing in Russian companies. It's a potentially rare case of an MP putting their money where their mouth is.
Unless it's an amazing coincidence made by a blind trust who placed this trade months in advance to happen on that particular day... it's quacking like the insider trading.
More importantly - that PoS invested into Russian bank shares in the first place? That's not fooking ok for at least 8 years now.
JRM sold all his shares in Russian Banks 24 hours prior to UK sanctions being announced (insider dealing)
Sanctions hardly came as a surprise. And IS this insider trading? If you own shares in a company and you learn something bad is going to happen to it, surely you would sell too.
He's certainly not a representative of the people, not a christian and lacks any morals or scruples.
You seem to know a lot about him, certainly more than those I know who have met him. You may have been a teensy bit biased by the tabloid caricature. Certainly he has morals and scruples, they just are not ones you agree with. I wonder how you are able to speak with such certainty to his personal faith or lack thereof, that you know more than he does.
