It seems that some Russian troops are leaving the farmlands near the border. It's peas in our thyme

It seems:- primarily the British (and some USA) politicians are banging on about guns, tanks, invasion, bombs, war, death, etc. whereas the rest of the world is going for diplomacy
- Putin is laughing at the west, has them over a barrel. He just needs to move troops close to the border and everyone tulips themselves. He moves them away and everyone pats themselves on the back for standing up to him. A few months later he does exactly the same. If the UK, and other governments, wanted to stop this they would put the sanctions in now but they won't and in particular the UK government as London relies on ill gotten Russian gains
- the UK government, well some of them, wouldn't mind a small way as this would be Boris's Thatcher moment to save his skin
- it now just needs the Chinese to start ******* around near Taiwan and British force might be a bit stretched what with the government having thrown their lot in with Australia via AUKUS

And then how much money has the UK sent Ukraine in aid...Also don't forget not everything in war is weapons:
In February, “a complete field hospital will be handed over, including the necessary training, all co-financed by Germany to the tune of 5.3 million euros [$6bn]”, German Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht told Sunday’s edition of the newspaper Die Welt.
...
Germany has already supplied respirators and treated seriously wounded Ukrainian soldiers at its military hospitals for years
...

Germany built hospitals, great - the people who are treated there got there in the first place because of Germany's desire to get in bed with Putin, historically they've got a lot of experience doing this tulip, they even have audacity to claim that they have historical responsibility to Moscow somehow, even though it was Ukraine and Belorus that took the biggest hit during WW2.
Basically completely indefensible position, especially with Nort Stream 2 which is the key enabler for Putin's invasion as there will be reduced threat of gas supply being blown up during fighting, somethign that Ukraine should have done in 2014 before these pipelines were built.Last edited by AtW; 15 February 2022, 15:32.Comment
