I thought the only burn you felt is when the lube dried up?

This may be a half way house and a good suggestion. I was thinking to ask if 3 was possible. If not then 4 would at least help a bit.

I once had 32 over 4 days when working away (2hrs drive), but used to do 34. Started midday on Mon 6-7 hrs, Tue&Wed 10 -11 hrs, Thurs finish midday. Home at 2-2:30 pm and no work until 10am start on the Monday. Loved it.

I loved working three days a week when I had opportunity to do so. I was really cheeky and alternated the days I worked too, so every two weeks I had a 5 day weekend

          To illustrate:
          Mo Tu We Th Fr
          Wk1 X X X
          Wk2 X X X
          Wk3 X X X
          Wk4 X X X

I'm assuming the volume of gin meant 1 day was lost...
