Since shelves only started to go empty after April this year i reckon its IR35.

        Just found:

Maybe IR35 was the final straw that broke everything..
They have been driving down wages for years and outsourcing agencies to avoid benefits, they then used EU drivers to undercut existing drivers so when Covid sent everyone back to their parent countries for COVID they decided to not come back because there is no money to be made here.

Bus drivers in central London are on £12 an hour. (you need extra licences for that).

Yes because one will die of starvation if turkeys and pigs in blankets (and Turkish delight) are unavailable over the 'festive' season.

Waitrose lorry drivers are earning more than lawyers and architects as salaries soar above £53,000 amid national shortage

The Mail mentioned this April's IR35 Tax changes as one cause for the shortage but did not going into details:

"Lower wages, the closure of a tax loophole for drivers and Brexit complications around hiring have all contributed to the crisis, along with an ageing workforce and the coronavirus pandemic, which has made it more difficult to train new drivers."

It was cretins like you who broke a perfectly working system - now we’ve got empty shelves and incoming inflationary surge
