That and the Cossie had the advantage of old school AWD so it could actually put the power down without being interupted by wheel speed sensors etc...... I don't think the figures really tell you anything, even my little 800cc VFR will do 0-60 in 4 and a bit seconds if you have a quickshift and know how to use it. More likely the tyre technology has improved to the extent that the actual mechanical grip is better.
I had a 1969 351 Mach 1 Mustang that could "do" 0-60 in 6 seconds but only if you jacked the rear end up about 6 inches... Again tyre technology was it's biggest issue.

Plus, having no offspring, who cares how the earth will be in 30 years time? Not my problem

Contemplating sticking a tracker on it too ... or the Ghost engine cutout.
