And the rest - I've seen an estimate that it's over £2bn

And given the onlyfans and other recent cases it looked like Uber was all set to lose that case even before the high court confirmed that uber drivers are workers and not self employed.

As for delivery firms at least 1 had previously declared their workers were workers which is why delivery charges are so high.

I don't use the delivery apps as taking 30% off what the takeaway receives is 30% I would prefer the takeaway got directly. But the takeaways we use are the better ones who never needed to sign up with the delivery firms to get sales.

      PS:

(And also time to start paying the proper cost of parcel delivery rather than expect the driver to shoulder part of it to pay for your goodies).

So is it the end of Amazon Prime as we know it?

But how often does one have a watch delivered? When I bought an Apple Watch, I just collected it from their shop

Great news. However as mentioned watch delivery costs soar.
I actually don't think they are. Amazon pay more than enough per a shift to meet minimum wage. The issue the poorer drivers seem to have is that they don't get enough shifts to pay for the van they hire on a weekly basis.

5 shifts a week and there isn't a problem. 2 shifts a week and the rent on the van that they need to pay destroys their income.

And that's the same the world over (America, India, UK and all across Europe).

What we may see is Amazon sorting out the vans themselves and dropping rates slightly to cover that cost. Either way it's not going to impact amazon that much.

              Now that's a good question.

I would expect subscription costs to go up.

When I use Deliveroo I always add a generous tip for the delivery person. It's a small gesture but I like to think it helps a little.

The cost will go up so you won't need to tip.

I really don't get why people don't go direct.

I hate the phone but it's not difficult to look at the deliveroo menu then find the number and call them directly.
