    British Teeth

You know what the Americans say about British teeth, it's surely not as bad as made out here:

Patients struggling to get NHS dental care across England, says watchdog | Dentists | The Guardian

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

On average Brits, before the pandemic, actually had better teeth than people from the US.

Oh and I missed seeing my dentist last year and won't see them this year unless it is an emergency. I also will have to see them privately if I do.

Went for my yearly checkup in December (you have a pass here which gets stamped and if you keep it up to date, some treatments are free or cheaper) and had deep clean in January. All was fine albeit a bit complicated while wearing a face mask...

I went private in 2019 and haven't felt the need to go back to the NHS. Got messed around royally over a root canal and couple of dodgy crowns and just decided it was a false economy in the end.

NHS dentist refused to do the root canal and referred me to their sister practice, which was cheap private, where the root canal specialist they had only worked Fridays, wasn't available for a month and then cancelled on me twice.

Changed to another, properly private, practice with a named person on their website who had verifiable credentials (and a great Glaswegian accent, I'm such a sucker for a Scot!) and it was sorted.

NHS dentist? Does such a thing exist. Not been able to get one since mid 90's so always gone private.

But, to be fair, the private dentists I've used have charged pretty much the same as NHS anyway so it's made no difference (and less screaming kids around the place!)

I've had the opposite experience. Was paying a fortune for private and had various problems. The NHS dentist I switched to has been brill so far. Depends on the individual skills.
