It's recovered quite a bit but I'll bet my last penny HL will execute it at the lowest point it's been.

It doesn't quite work like that - for every sale, someone is also buying. If someone has put in a sale with no lower limit, and someone else has put a buy at a low price, then the market-makers will execute that trade.

Preventing rom buying and especially selling shares gotto lead to serious lawsuits - losses can be easily determined here.

Assuming the ability to stop buying is not due to lack of liquidity (this can happen, and I fully expect trading platforms will be within their rights to not accept trades in such circumstances) then I'd agree that buy orders should be accepted. Were sell orders explicitly blocked too, or was it just that the platforms failed under volume?

However, I'd not be surprised if trading platform T&Cs also mean they are not compelled to accept trades for various reasons of their own making.

Looks like no one is buying then (surprise surprise) Three hours and still ticking.

Class action suit is inevitable in the US - perfect case for it with hundreds of thousands joining it, repetitional damage is very high even if the reasons for stippling trades were purely technical - inability to handle volume.

Wake up call to people who use cheap or even free platforms to play with the big boys who have far bigger advantages with real trading platforms.

This ain’t over though - kids will be really pissed now, hopefully they attack dirty AMD shorters...

The big two free platforms, Robinhood and Trading 212 both allowed sales, which confirms it's not due to liquidity (e.g. why allow sales if there's no buyers).

The inability to buy, but allowing sales creates a downward pressure (great for the institutional shorters). 100% this entire play needs analysing by the authorities (unless they're in on the act, then we're long due a revolution).

Big hedge fund with conflict of a interest is one of the investors into "Robinhood"...

It's going to be a massive class action lawsuit, bye-bye "Robinhood" IPO without settling it first.
