You could have said the same about Cameron and May - the Tories were only saved because Labour worked even harder to ensure they couldn't lose. So Labour replace their failure in chief with a man that actually has potential and their vote share rises mid term.

This could be countered by the Tories replacing their clown with someone capable of dealing with Covid and Brexit. Tricky as they purged a lot of the Enemies of the People from the ranks of their MPs.
