    Another Local Lockdown

Well only about 12 million people from Tuesday -

Is England heading for a HALF-TERM lockdown? | Daily Mail Online

Another swathe of England is being ordered into coronavirus lockdown as Matt Hancock today admitted that a new national Covid crackdown is on the cards

Curbs including curfew on pubs and restaurants and a ban on socialising outside of households are being introduced across parts of the North West, Midlands and West Yorkshire from Tuesday as the government ramps up its action.

The announcement - which will mean a total of around 12million people are under restrictions - came as the Health Secretary pleaded with the public to 'come together to tackle this virus', with the looming prospect of even more draconian steps.

Dublin is heading a similar way this evening. Mrs OG fled the county this morning (without the kids naturally).

I honestly think that this government is not taking this seriously enough. There are growing cases happening in these areas and so they announce a lockdown to start in 4 days time, after a sunny weekend so that people are going to go out and mingle (as can be seen on the Mail). If you look at nearly every other country, as soon as cases start to rise, the lockdown is implemented immediately to stop a further rise of cases, what on earth goes through Hancock's brain when he looks at the figures....
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Travel restrictions in Co. Dublin were put in place last night before the weekend.

I saw rumblings about a London lock down too. Not unexpected.

All of this was an absolute certainty the minute the pubs re-opened. It was only a matter of time.

Makes me lough when people still believe the gov acts in their interest. The whole act is just how to show that you care more by actually caring less.
They want economic activity and peace for the rulling masters, whether a few die or not in the meanwhile does not actually matter.
The first wave and initial lockdown raised some important questions about pay, essential workers. And our role in society. While some were thrown into the front line and forced to stay there(you quit, no benefits for you) others were protected.
They won’t allow for those questions to be raised again so they’ll push under a rug everything that needs to be pushed.

COVID is killing 15 people a day in the UK just now and the average age of fatalities is over 80. If you're fat you've had 6 months to shed the weight.

Hardly anyone pays more in tax than the average cost per person in public spending. Time to get every lazy paranoid fooker back to work as the country is not a charity.
