    It is not always possible.

It is certainly not possible when many rely on social media and politicians, and others listen to medically qualified people.

It can even be seen in the posts on here - if a medic disagrees with <insert viewpoint here> on medical matters, then first step is to discredit the medic, second is to resort to insults, third is to change the subject.

It’s proven for months that even simple masks reduce distance of virus spread a lot -

See how a mask affects how a cough travels - CNN Video

The only reason masks were not recommended until recently is to prevent spike of extra demand for medical grade masks needed by health pros.

Bad reason if you ask me - should have explained it from start and get everybody wearing simple masks, it is cheap and easily done, even if it reduces spread by 5% it’s a lot.

It’s perverse to see so many people opposed to it in supposed 1-st world countries

        Developing effective policies to maximise population engagement in essential control measures. These include: physical distancing; wearing face coverings in settings where physical distancing is not possible;

No it's fine I can go to the pub and not wear a face mask where I will sit in the same place for a few hours.

But a 15 minute trip to the supermarket is like riding a plague ridden corpse apparently.

Although it gets better so you do not have to wear a medical grade face mask you can just wear a cloth covering.

Which according to this article is pointless.

Do face masks work against the coronavirus and should you wear one? | New Scientist

          So enforced facial coverings anyone?

Can't see that endings well .. hopefully after a while it will only apply to women.

Pubs are optional - it’s choice, supermarkets are not - wearing masks protects others, if everybody does it then it gives extra protection, why argue against it?

Why? It's a nasty strain of flu. Do we go to these lengths in a bad flu season? No. Flu is nasty and flu kills too.

First of all, it is a coronavirus, not influenza. Second, a few months in and we are at close to 600,000 global deaths, 2nd wave will easily double this, might even exceed a few million dead.

But please, all you people who have no fear, it's just a sniffle, please go out and catch it and do us all a favour....

                  Which they clearly are.

A real problem in the winter will be distinguishing between those who are symptomatic with Covid and those who are symptomatic with cold and flu.
