Are such huge sums actually available, assuming you don't take some sort of management position and don't work in London?
Not sure yet. I'll find out soon when I have a chat with "permie position offering man". I was told that they could comfortably beat my contractor rate, but in pure money terms, I can't see it really.
I'm not widely skilled; I just have good knowledge of a particular piece of software & not too many others in the market place have the same.
I just used the IR35calc pension calculator and it tells me on my (last ) rate that I can contribute £215,000 per year.
Is it broke? That's well above my turnover for the year...
Thats the maximum you are allowed to contribute now after the A day changes last year. Just because you can doesnt mean you have to. Bit like nuclear weapons really.
