Having hayfever and/or asthma in the 60s/70s made one fairly unusual.
While the hayfever season seemed to last from the end of May to the middle of July.
These days, in my case, it starts sometime in January and goes relentlessly all the way to fecking August.
We just need to import some Septic ragweed & it could go all the way to October.
Plus food allergies seem to be increasing endlessly and much more seriously, killing people quite regularly.
The one I couldn't get over was the kid who died when someone threw a piece of cheese at him.
Might it be down to the lack of exposure to sufficient dirt during infancy making the immune system over vigilant for the wrong sort of things?
