Union Jack ClubI was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).Comment

Awesome place. Stayed there a lot myself.Originally posted by Scruff View PostUnion Jack Club
Got chatting with a Beefeater who popped over from the tower for a change of scenery, and experienced the Royal Scots Guard piper warming up in the writing room. Happy days.Comment

Probably inspired by Richmond of the IT Crowd.Originally posted by GJABS View PostKnew one guy who "lived" in clientco server room.
Personally nothing unusual, a few B&Bs run by creepy people, and the back of a van on a folding bed for an overnighter.
Often wondered about the savings possibility of using a stealth camper van parked at client site or indeed anywhere nearby, instead of hotels/b&b when working away during the week. Vanlife on Instagram makes it look way better than the reality of freezing your bollocks off in winter and sweating them off in summer. A bit awkward asking clients if they have on-site shower facilities at interview too.
I'm sure there are some that make it work.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.Comment

I knew one contractor who got a room in the female residential block of the nursing training centre. They let out rooms over the summer holidays for extra income. And yes, there were quite a few students still around.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment
